SouthDoc is for medical problems that cannot wait until your own GP is open. We are open evenings, nights, weekends and bank holidays. Call us and a nurse will call you back to arrange the right care.

What happens when you call
One phone call is all it takes. Our team will guide you from there.
You call and a receptionist takes your details
Call 0818 355 999. The receptionist will ask for the patient’s name, date of birth, location and a phone number to call you back on.
A triage nurse calls you back
The nurse will ask about the symptoms, when they started and any medical history. The call comes from a private number, so keep your phone free.
You get the right care
Depending on what you need, you may get nurse advice, doctor advice, an appointment at a treatment centre, a home visit, or the emergency services.
A summary of your SouthDoc consultation is sent to your own GP the next morning.
Have these ready before you call
It helps the receptionist and nurse if you have the following to hand. Do not worry if you are missing something. Call anyway.

Opening hours
SouthDoc runs when your own GP surgery is closed.
Monday to Friday
18:00 to 08:00 the next morning
Every weeknight, including the night before a bank holiday.
Saturday, Sunday and public holidays
Open 24 hours
From 08:00 on Saturday right through to 08:00 on Monday morning. Christmas and New Year hours are announced on this site each December.
Outside these hours, please contact your own GP. The SouthDoc daytime office (for enquiries, not medical calls) is open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, on 064 669 1974.
